Weapons in Wuthering Waves are character-locked by type — each Resonator can only equip their specific weapon category. This guide covers the best-in-slot weapon for every character, plus budget alternatives that perform nearly as well. Weapon passives are often more important than base stats, so read carefully before pulling. For a full breakdown of which characters need which weapons, visit our character build guide.

Key insight: A weapon's passive effect accounts for roughly 60-70% of its value. Base stats matter, but a well-matched passive on a 4-star can outperform a mismatched 5-star.

🔨 Craftable Weapons (F2P Priority)

These forgeable 4-star weapons are excellent F2P options. Prioritize refining (R5) these over pulling on the weapon banner.

🗡️ Swords

Swords are the most common weapon type in WuWa, used by Jinhsi, Camellya, Sanhua, Yangyang, and many more. The sword pool has the strongest signature weapons in the game.

Ages of Harvest

Best: Jinhsi — CRIT Rate 24.3%

Passive: Increases all Element DMG by 12-24%. After casting Resonance Skill, gain 7-14% ATK per second (max 5 stacks). Jinhsi's signature. ~20% better than Emerald of Genesis for Jinhsi.

Red Spring

Best: Camellya — ATK% 36.4%

Passive: Basic Attack DMG +20-40%. When HP is below 50%, gain additional 15-30% Havoc DMG. Camellya's signature. Synergizes perfectly with her HP drain mechanic.

Emerald of Genesis

Standard Banner — CRIT Rate 24.3%

Passive: ATK +12-24%. Energy Regen +10-20% when HP > 80%. Best standard 5-star sword. Works on every sword DPS. Top priority from standard banner selector.

Lunar Cutter

Standard Banner — ATK% 36.4%

Passive: After casting Resonance Skill, gain 8-16% DEF. Decent for DEF-scaling characters only. F2P alternative: craft Lunar Saga instead.

🥊 Gauntlets

Gauntlets are used by Xiangli Yao, Brant, Yuanwu, and other close-combat characters. Gauntlet passives often emphasize Resonance Liberation damage and survivability.

Verity's Handle

Best: Xiangli Yao — CRIT Rate 24.3%

Passive: Resonance Liberation DMG +20-40%. After Ultimate, gain 15-30% Electro DMG for 12s. Xiangli Yao's signature. Huge boost to his burst damage rotation.

Unflickering Valor

Best: Brant — ATK% 36.4%

Passive: When hit, gain 10-20% DEF and reflect 80-160% DEF as damage. Brant's signature. DEF scaling synergizes with his kit.

Stonard

Standard Banner — CRIT Rate 24.3%

Passive: After casting Intro Skill, ATK +15-30% for 15s. Solid standard option for any Gauntlet DPS. Good alternative if you don't have Verity's Handle.

🔮 Rectifiers

Rectifiers are the weapon of choice for support and sub-DPS characters like Shorekeeper, Zhezhi, and Verina. Rectifier passives tend to focus on healing and elemental damage.

Stellar Symphony

Best: Shorekeeper — HP% 49.6%

Passive: Healing Bonus +10-20%. After healing, grant team 8-16% ATK for 10s. Shorekeeper's signature. BiS support weapon, massive team buff.

Rime-Draped Sprouts

Best: Zhezhi — CRIT DMG 48.6%

Passive: Glacio DMG +12-24%. After casting Resonance Skill, gain 20-40% CRIT DMG for 8s. Zhezhi's signature. Highest CRIT DMG substat in the game.

Cosmic Ripples

Standard Banner — ATK% 36.4%

Passive: Energy Regen +12-24%. After Ultimate, restore 8-16 Energy. Great for support characters. Variation (4-star) is actually better for energy-focused supports.

Variation

4-star — Energy Regen 35.2%

Passive: After Intro Skill, gain 10-20% Energy. Best F2P support weapon — outperforms Cosmic Ripples for Verina and Shorekeeper in energy needs.

🔫 Pistols

Pistols are used by ranged Resonators like Chixia, Aalto, and Mortefi. The pistol category has fewer 5-star options, making good 4-star alternatives more important.

Static Mist

Standard Banner — CRIT Rate 24.3%

Passive: Energy Regen +12-24%. After casting Resonance Skill, gain 10-20% ATK for 10s. Best standard pistol — great stat spread for any pistol user.

Undying Flame

Best: Chixia — ATK% 36.4%

Passive: Fusion DMG +12-24%. After using Resonance Liberation, Basic Attack DMG +20-40% for 10s. Excellent for Fusion pistol users.

Novaburst

Craftable 4-star — ATK% 30.2%

Passive: After Intro Skill, ATK +8-16% for 12s. Best F2P pistol — easy to craft and refine to R5. Pairs well with Intro-heavy rotations.

⚔️ Broadblades

Broadblades are heavy weapons used by Jiyan, Calcharo, and other heavy-hitting characters. Broadblade passives emphasize Heavy Attack damage and ATK scaling.

Verdant Summit

Best: Jiyan — CRIT DMG 48.6%

Passive: Heavy Attack DMG +24-48%. After Heavy Attack, gain 12-24% ATK for 8s. Jiyan's signature. BiS for any Heavy Attack-focused broadblade user.

Lustrous Razor

Standard Banner — ATK% 36.4%

Passive: After Resonance Skill, gain 12-24% DEF and 8-16% ATK for 12s. Solid standard option. Falls behind Helios Cleaver at R5 for some characters.

Helios Cleaver

Craftable 4-star — ATK% 30.2%

Passive: After taking damage, gain 8-16% ATK for 12s. Excellent F2P option. At R5, this is very close to Lustrous Razor R1 in damage. Easy to craft.

🎲 Weapon Pull Strategy & Priority

Start with standard banner weapons. Use your free standard pulls to get Emerald of Genesis (sword) and Static Mist (pistol) — they work on multiple characters and give the most value per pull.
Pull signature weapons only for your main team. Signature weapons are ~15-25% better than standard 5-star alternatives. If you main Jinhsi, Ages of Harvest is worth it. If you use her casually, Emerald of Genesis is fine.
4-star weapons at R5 can match or exceed R1 standard 5-stars in specific builds. Prioritize refining craftable weapons (Helios Cleaver, Novaburst, Lunar Saga) before pulling for 5-stars.
CRIT stat weapons (CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG secondary stat) are universally better than ATK% for DPS characters. This is why Emerald of Genesis (CRIT Rate) is the best standard weapon.
Support weapons are lower priority than DPS weapons. A Verina with Variation 4-star works nearly as well as one with Cosmic Ripples. Save your pulls for DPS signature weapons first.
